The Nursery Day
Drop off/Pick up
Drop off: Children attending morning sessions arrive at nursery at 8:40am. They are greeted at the door by a familiar member of staff and are encouraged to hang up there coats and bags on their pegs and place their lunch boxes and water bottles in the kitchen. They then find their photos and place it on the self-registration board before settling down with a book.
Pick up: Children are collected from the main reception area at 11.40am or 2.40pm. If you need to extend their session until 3.10pm, then collection will be from the back door of the Nursery (in our outside area).
Phonics and Maths
We have short, structured story, rhyme time and maths lessons every day.
Snack and Lunch time
We provide a healthy snack and milk at 9.30 (see menu below). This is free of charge.
Children staying all day join the older children in the hall for lunch. They have their own table and a member of nursery staff will accompany them. Children can either bring their own packed lunch or order a school dinner via ParentPay for a cost of £2.
What should my child bring to nursery?
Your child should ideally have a small rucksack containing the following items:
- A named (non spill) drink bottle for use during the session which can be taken home to be washed and refilled ready for the next day.
- Named packed lunch (if staying for lunch).
- Nappies/pull-ups and wipes (as necessary).
- A spare set of clothes (including socks and pants).
- A named pair of wellies (to be kept on our welly rack outside).
- A waterproof puddle suit (to stay in nursery).
Children need to come to nursery wearing practical clothing and foot wear that they can get messy in and also manage themselves (for example trainers with velcro straps).
